Atletico Madrid – Osasuna

Having just one win in their last five games in the league is simply not good enough for Atletico Madrid. Because of this poor form Los Colchoneros are now 7th in La Liga with 26 points. Their record shows 6 wins, 8 draws and 2 losses, which is not a record of a team that could fight for the title.

Diego Simeone and his players do not have any time to lose, if they want to play in the Champions League again next season. They won just two points in their last three matches and they will look for improvement against Osasuna.

In the previous round Atletico visited Villarreal, but the game ended without any goals being scored – 0-0. Simeone tried to change the narrative of the match with the inclusion of Vitolo, Kieran Trippier and Llorente, but this didn’t lead to a winning goal.

Osasuna are doing pretty decent for a newcomer so far. The Pamploners are 10th in the standings with 23 points and being on a safe distance from the relegation zone. This is the most important thing for them.

In their last five matches Osasuna suffered only one defeat, which is very good. Last week Arrasate’s boys hosted Sevilla at the El Sadar and secured a point with a 1-1 draw. Ezequiel Avila was the player who scored against the Andalusians on this day.
