Former Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar left Benfica
Brazil’s Benfica club leadership has canceled the contract of former Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar by mutual agreement.
The club has released a video today that Cesar is saying goodbye to the rest of the team. The 38-year-old Brazilian said that “a trip ends here,” but he did not say whether he would end his football career. Cesar has been part of Benfica’s team for the past three and a half years and has had a contract by the end of the season.
With the Brazilian national team he won Copa America in 2004 and the Confederations Cup in 2009 and 2013. Cesar played at three world championships in his career – in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
