France – Peru

It’s time for France to impress at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. After beating Australia with a lot of effort and a little bit of luck, everyone expects some fireworks from Les Bleus. France meets Peru in Ekaterinburg and here are our winning soccer predictions for this clash.

France are regarded as one of the big favourites to win the World Cup in Russia, but the way they started their campaign was not the most impressive one. Didier Deschamps’ boys took the three points against Australia, but the 2-1 win in Kazan came after some major difficulties for the European team. France had to thank Australia’s Aziz Behich for his own goal just 10 minutes before the end in order to celebrate a win at the Kazan’ Arena.

France’s manager Didier Deschamps also admitted in front of the press that France didn’t show their best qualities against Australia a few days ago. The experienced manager is aware that his team was heavily critisized because of what Les Bleus showed against the Soceroos. The former Monaco and Juventus manager promised that his players will show a different face in the next match. This is well needed at the moment, because another average performance by the French team would really affect the confidence of the players. And the critics among media and fans will get even more fierce than they are at the moment.

There’s some big chance to see the French manager making some changes in his starting line-up, after what we saw against Australia. Most likely Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe will keep their place in the starting line-up, but it won’t be surprising to see Ousmane Dembele giving his place to Olivier Giroud or Nabil Fekir. In the midfield it’s possible to see Blaise Matuidi returning to the starting eleven. The Juventus midfielder was left on the bench against Australia, but he entered the pitch after the break.

Peru came to Russia with ambitions to reach the knockout phase of the competition, but Les Incas didn’t start the tournament in the way they wanted. Peru suffered a 0-1 defeat against Denmark in their opening game, being unable to break their opponent’s defense. Yousuf Poulsen’s game in the second half was enough for the Danish Dynamite to clinch the win and make its first step towards the 1/8-finals.

A lot was said about Peru’s manager Ricardo Gareca’s decision to leave the captain Paolo Guerrero at the bench against Denmark. The former Bayern Munich striker entered the pitch after the halftime break and even made some impact. Guerrero was close to scoring an equalizer, but he didn’t have the luck to do it. Taking into account the problems which Peru had in attack against Denmark, it won’t be surprising to see Guerrero back to the starting eleven against France.

The other decorated veteran in Peru’s squad Jefferson Farfan should keep his place among the starting eleven as well. The former Schalke 04 star is one of Peru’s best players, even at this age. Farfan didn’t make the impact he wanted against Denmark, but now he will have another chance to shine at probably his first and last World Cup.

This wlll be the second time when France and Peru meet in an official game. The first match they played against each other was in 1982 in Paris and it was a friendly. France won with 1-0.

This was what we had to say about the World Cup clash from Group C between France and Peru. We hope we helped you in our winning soccer predictions.
