Kane overcame Berbatov
Harry Kain improved a record of Alan Shearer, but is still far from achieving his goals in the Premier League. Tottenham striker scored 39 goals in the championship in the 2017 calendar, after hitting a hat-trick against Southampton today.
Kain has already scored 96 goals in the Premier League, thus overtaking Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian has 94 goals in the English Championship and is the 32nd in the everlasting rankings. The record holder is Alan Shearer with 260 goals scored for Blackburn and Newcastle. He has another 23 hits in Southampton, but they are before the Premier League.
Wayne Rooney is in second place with 208 hits. Everton striker has scored 10 times this season and in theory has chances to catch up with Sheer if he plays for a few more years. In the top 10 there is another active footballer – Jermain Defoe. The 35-year-old striker is seventh with 161 goals.
