Lazio strengthened with a central defender

Italian elite Lazio has attracted defender Martin Caceres from Verona, the Serbian club announced. The Uruguayan national has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend it. 30-year-old Caceres, who has had 75 matches for Uruguay’s national team, crossed into Verona last August after spending only half a season in the English team Southampton. In his career, the Uruguayan has played for Juventus, Villarreal, Barcelona and Seville. Lazio’s team ranks fourth in Serie A with 40 points, two less than the third Inter and 11 behind Napoli.
