Schalke 04 is the last semi-final for the German Cup
Schalke 04 team became the last semi-finalist in the German Cup tournament. Tonight, the king-men beat the 1: 0 Wolvesburg at the 1/4-final of the Fellins Arena tournament. Guido Burgstaler turned out to be the hero of the host, putting the only goal in the game in the 10th minute.
The Gelsenkirchen team took an early lead in the game. In the 10th minute the hosts organized a counterattack, Burgsthal was speeded, twice fired a direct guard, then fired his legs and scored 1-0. By the end of the half-time Wolfsburg had recovered and also created some good opportunities, but they were missed.
In the 52nd minute, the visitors put themselves ahead of the ball with Matia Nastasch in the penalty area. Such was the fact, but the judge thought it was unintentional because the strike was close and the Serb was with his back. The “Wolves” were looking for all the straights and in the 85th minute they were pretty close. Then there was a tremendous stir in Schalke’s penalty area and the home side’s defender had to clear the ball from the goal after a shot with Daniel Dedavi’s head close.
Still, Schalke kept his fragile lead and joined the teams of Bayern (Munich), Bayer (Leverkusen) and Eintracht (Frankfurt) on the 1/2-finals.
