They were firing on a football player chased by the Erdogan regime
The popular player in Turkey, Deniz Nakaki, complained that they had tried to kill him. The incident happened yesterday on the highway near his native German city of Durren. Many bullets were fired at his car, but the 28-year-old is undamaged. He accused the Turkish authorities of being persuaded to be an enemy of Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s regime.
Nake was born in Germany and is of Kurdish origin. His name was in Turkey a little over a year ago when he was brought to court in Gaziantep on charges of dealing with terrorist propaganda on social networks.
He competes in Turkish low-amdspor, but earlier in his career he played for the German St. Pauli and Paderborn 07, as well as for the elite Turkish Gencheriblers.
According to Nakaki his posts are not terrorist, but on the contrary – he wants peace. Naki, who supports the ideas of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, has been punished by the Turkish Football Federation with 12-game scraps for “ideological propaganda”.
