Vitesse – Groningen
Vitesse hosts Groningen in a match from the 1st round of the Dutch Eredivisie. Here are our winning soccer predictions for this clash.
Last season Vitesse finished 6th in the Eredivisie regular season and participated in the Europa League playoffs. They won the right to play in Europe by beating Utrecht in the final playoff. Vitesse beat Viitorul in their first clash in the Europa League clash, but lost the first clash against Basel in the 3rd qualifying round of the competition. Now Vitesse will have a pretty difficult task to turn the tie around in the second leg at Basel.
At the summer transfer market Vitesse signed the Serbian attacking midfielder Matus Bero from Trabzonspor, while the Norwegian centre back Rasmus Thelander was bought from Zurich. Meanwhile Oussama Darfalou, Max Clark and Khalid Karami were signed as free agents. Julian Calor and Michael Tornes left the club with free transfers, while Julian Lelieveld left the club with a loan deal to Go Ahead Eagles.
Groningen finished the last season at 12th place in the Eredivisie. They were kind of average during the campaign, but at least they kept their place in the elite division, which was the most important thing. Now Groningen would be happy if they can do a little better and find a place in the Top 10 of the Dutch league.
In the market Groningen were active, signing five new players. The Japanese midfielder Ritsu Doan was signed from Gamba Osaka, while Julian Chabot was bought from Sparta Rotterdam and Deyovaisio Zeefuik was bought from Ajax. Ahmad Morreira was signed with a free transfer and Mateo Cassierra was loaned from Ajax.
The club was left by the midfielder Juninho Bacuna, who was sold to the English Huddersfield Town.
These are our winning soccer predictions for the Eredivisie clash between Vitesse and Groningen.
